Shock Your Demons!

Wake up. Stand up. Fall. Bleed. Stand up. Shock them.

When my demons refuse to let up. When their onslaught is unrelenting.

When it feels like getting back isn’t worth it.

Shock them. I make them shudder in fear at who I choose to be. At who I choose to serve.

And how I choose to live. Keep them cowering in fear.

Because sometimes, they win. And my heart hurts. And the desire to keep going fades.

That’s when they don’t expect it.

That’s when they can’t recover.

And that’s why I get back up.

Nothing or no one can stop me.

From fighting.

From standing up, fighting my demons, and breaking the generational curses I was destined to inherit.

Nothing and no one. My children will not have to fight my demons.

That’s a promise.
