Where did I find this?

This wasn’t meant for me.

This wasn’t a part of the plan…

Fate is baffled.

And I smile and I dance, and I love.

Where does that fire come from?

From the feeling of never letting anyone feel the way I once felt.

Joy!! JOY!!!! PURE JOY!!

The morning light that bleeds out after what feels like an eternity of anything but it.

How did I find this?

I sometimes fear that it’ll be taken away from me…

But then I realize. It is me.

It is I. I am joy.

I am hope.

I am peace.

I had it when I had nothing. When I starved…

I have it when I have what seems to be the bare minimum.

How? How does this joy keep growing…?

Because it knows what the deepest depths of sorrow look like.
