Decoded: The Wyatt Sicks Booking and The @tripleh Era of @wwe
Bray Wyatt may he rest in peace was a character with unlimited potential that was hindered by the creative forces he was working with and the reality of the man himself.
I was immediately apprehensive when the potential appeared for the return of The Wyatt Family in some format and the eventual creation of The Wyatt Sicks.
I was overjoyed as I often am to be wrong.
The booking of this stable has displayed a level of storytelling mastery that is rare to find in the world of professional wrestling.
The WWE Creative Team led by Paul Levesque crafted room for these characters to breathe and be present in their immense thrill and horror.
The character design, the room that they take up, and the timing behind every part of their presence on TV is done with a sense of intentionality, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail.
The devil is in the details.
The best turn of phrase to describe this stable and the way they have returned to dominate the show without needing to take up unnecessary amounts of air time.
The business is in it's prime when superstars that are good for business are given their time in the sun while others step back and hone their craft, allowing that switch to be holistic and only done when a story arc is completed or fizzled out.
There is a sense of allowing things to simmer that has been brought in with this regime and rewarding long-time fans while giving newcomers enough to keep them satisfied with this strange yet beautiful art form.
We are in the Golden Age of WWE and I am thankful for it.
Yours faithfully,
Sam Qavah John.
