Creed III punches way above its weight and had my expectations rocked! Much like the big, bold, and unapologetic new shots and usage of brand-new angles and techniques that I bought into and thoroughly enjoyed.
As someone who has seen every Rocky and Creed movie, I was healthily optimistic for this third installment in the franchise.
My word.
I was so wrong to have doubted any aspect of it, especially Michael B. Jordan in his new role as the director!
I was lost.
I was invested.
I was blown away and enamored by Jonathan Majors as always.
There isn’t much this man can’t do.
Every role he takes on is uniquely his and he owns every part of his portrayals.
His level of commitment, passion, fun, and work is what I aspire to.
The future of Hollywood belongs to Jonathan Majors and my God, does he deserve it.
He puts on a clinic as Dame and had me siding with his character for the majority of the film, feeling the trauma and untapped and unprocessed anger that the past can hold.
I don’t think I have been this shaken by a film this year and am just so thankful for the ability and blessing to be able to get ready and go out to watch a movie.
It’s truly such a privilege.
So thankful to the Universal City Walk AMC, the crew there, and my main man, Ernesto!
Y’all always put the work in and I see y’all.
Probably going to be watching this movie a couple more times!
The Creed Legacy is intact and I have a feeling there’s more story to tell that is earned and deserved.
