Art Thoughts: Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.

This film restored my hope in the world!

I say it all the time but in case you haven’t heard it: kids are what make this world special!

This film is such a bold and beautiful piece of storytelling that pushes back on regular narratives of religion and biases and creates a brand new tale for this generation grounded in reality and compassion.

Every beat was thought out, lovingly put together and perfectly executed.

The cast of this film was absolutely stunning and the film was able to create a narrative without a singular villain.

Just complex, real, hurting, loving people.

Rachel McAdams…

You FLIPPING ROCKSTAR!

Her portrayal of Barbara had me especially blown away and I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character in a film as much before.

The dichotomy of kindness and blaming yourself when it backfired on you are so honest and gripping.

I wanted to give her the biggest hug and tell her how special she is and in turn, I was able to direct that love right back to me.

Movies DO EXACTLY THAT, y’all!

I’m blessed and honored to be a part of this majestic craft.

What a film!

Rounds out my top 5 films quite nicely!!
