A New Story.
All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds Awake to find that it was vanity; But the dreamers of day are dangerous men. That they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible. - T.E. Lawrence.
I have found myself lost in the freefall of being the hardest worker in every room and trusting in God for the rest.
I have grown to fall in love with the thing I most feared: Failure.
And with each new step, I draw near to the pain, let it breathe, and cherish the joy.
The moment spent on the grass in Forsyth Park or with a friend at a Savannah College of Art and Design cafeteria or with no one at all in a room at the Scad Museum of Art as I work on my 3rd book, apply to jobs, and work on my thesis.
Oh, how I misunderstood you, failure. I apologize for pushing you away.
It's in your presence that I found a path to walk, a journey to fight for, and a story to tell.
One story ends. A new one begins...
A beautiful one. A tragic one. A one that will be full of life.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Yours faithfully,
Sam Qavah John.
