People: The Dwelling Church I went to The Dwelling in Savannah, GA, with an overwhelming, unsettling sense of distrust in the church system. I found an incredible group of imperfect people who loved me with everything they had in them. This congregation led by Gunter Akridge made me hope and believe in what Christ wanted the church to be, and I have found love, trust, and friendships that will never let me go. So thankful for each of you, specifically the Akridge family, Matt and Elise Higgins, Stephan and Chantel Cote, Mitchell and Kathryn Cox, Christian and Addison Jay, Adam and Andrea Hooper, Jamin Mays, and Brian Motberg. Y’all changed my life forever and gave me people I could call family and a place I could truly call home, even if it was just for three months. Location: Savannah Hilton Head Airport. I touched down at this airport on September 5th, 2018. First time in America. Severely hateful of myself. Addicted and lost. 330 odd pounds. Chained and defeated. Scared of what was next. And now, I sit in my home in Los Angeles. Having finished my first book. Graduated college with a perfect score. Independent creative professional working his dream job at the Academy Museum. 190 odd pounds. So deeply in love with myself. In love with Jesus. Never giving up. And… Finally FREE. #writer #content #author #journal #journey #onestepatatime #creative #create #creator #acting #actor #act #60islesserthan1 #growth #learner #learning #hope #honesty #mentalhealth #jesus #therapy #breathe #thankful #thankyou #share #vulnerability #joy #love #redemption #nevergiveup #church #savannah #freedom
